Artist Statement:
I am captivated by industrial architecture—structures built for pure functionality yet possessing an undeniable presence. Having lived near railways and industrial parks,
I explore how these engineered forms interact with gravity, erosion, and the landscape. Rather than depicting their grand design, I extract details and angles, transforming them into a calligraphic language of structure and balance.
My work mirrors architectural principles—where beams and supports hold weight, preventing collapse. At the intersection of rigid geometry and organic erosion, I find a visual rhythm that redefines industrial forms as expressive, dynamic compositions.
Expanding on this exploration, my latest work transforms industrial architecture into rhythmic, illuminated tapestries. By merging structural precision with the softness of fabric, I introduce backlighting to heighten contrast, enrich color, and create an ethereal interplay of light and shadow.
This technique enhances the tension between solidity and fluidity, further emphasizing the balance between engineered form and environmental transformation.
