No Need to be Nervous!

...if you haven't painted in a long while or ever.
We got your back!

Your instructors are established, professional artists and will show you how to mix colors, control your brush marks and paint confidently on canvas.  We want everyone to leave with a great artwork at the end.

All our instructors have years of teaching experience and take great pride in their craft so you can be confident that you will have a successful work of art at the end of class.

Just a heads up about the paint class:

Yes, you can bring your own beverages including beer, wine or whatever.  And bring a picnic or snacks if you like.  We have lots of  lounge places in the gallery to sit and eat at.  We have ice, plastic cups, some awesome glassware, bottle openers and beverage napkins.

A few exceptions to the above, is at our classes at Arrowhead Stadium and Wineries and Breweries.  These are not byo beverage or snacks sites.  Food and drink is available for purchase at these locations. We will always state the policy on that location's page.

All we ask is that you adhere to the Missouri liquor laws and be safe and responsible.  Just play it safe and take a cab or designate a driver.

Also an apron for every guest.

Our gallery space is located in the heart of the Crossroads Art District and on warm nights we open up the garage door and enjoy the weather while we paint. We always have grooving eclectic music playing while we work. We take a couple breaks over our time painting so you can get up and move around.

No pressure here, just a laid-back, supportive art studio environment.

Guests are always social and we encourage it. You are guaranteed to make a few new friends if your up for it.

If your looking for other great stuff before/after the paint class, we suggest:

Need some wine or other beverages before coming to our paint class? Just two doors down is KC Wineworks, serving wine made on site.  Tell them Art Experience sent you and they will will you 10% off your bottle purchase.

Close by, there is the super classy Cellar Rat at 17th and Baltimore, and a 3 minute walk to a Sinclair gas station with a nice selection of snacks and drinks at 17th and Grand.

Come by early and visit our neighbor, Christopher Elbow Artisanal Chocolates

After class, go one street over and listen to AMAZING FREE local jazz musicians play their heart out and sip on on swanky handmade cocktails at Green Lady Lounge.  We all hang out there often.

If you are hungry, walk half a block North on McGee to The Brick. Longtime favorite, we have been eating their seriously foodie food at great prices for so many years, we've lost count. Wednesday burger and drinks specials are our favorite. We have their menus, feel free to order up some take out and pick up your food during class breaks.

Here’s a link to all the restaurants, breweries, distilleries:  https://kccrossroads.org/explore/food-drink/ Our personal favorites for local food include:
  • Brewery Emperial - if your into beer (altho they have a full bar) and an awesome cheeseburger, steak burger or I think they have half roasted chicken - small menu but awesome) is a really cool intimate place and it’s definitely and artists hang out.  Located right behind our building on Oak - park in the lot on the corner of Josey’s Records and you’ll see a MOD Gallery sign on our building,
  • Strange Days Brewing in RiverMarket - again beer (I LOVE their beer) but they do have have wine in a can.  Then for food, order:
  • ClusterTruck and they will deliver to you.  Download the app on your phone to order: Use our promo code MF7380 and get 50% off your first order. Every thing we have had is great especially burger and pizza. You can also order Clustertruck from our location on 1809 McGee
  • Jack Stack BBQ, LuLu’s Thai Noodle Shop, Lidia’s for awesome Italian in a a really cool dining environment, La Bodega never fails for a more warm, intimate Spanish small plates and tapas, Nara for sushi
  • Webster’s House is on the edge of the Crossroads by the Performing Arts Center (food is pricy but do a happy hour apps and drinks in the bar for a classy experience - then tour the building).

We are only a couple of blocks from the Power and Light District, and Grinder's. Walk two blocks west and jump on the KC Streetcar.  Ride north to River Market and south to Union Station and Crown Center.
